Regions and alliances

Malign hybrid threat activities are a global phenomenon, affecting democracies worldwide. Learn more about Hybrid CoE’s research on hybrid threats from the perspective of where these threats may take place.

As Hybrid CoE’s Participating States include all EU member states and NATO allies, the Centre’s main focus is on the Euro-Atlantic area. Given the strong interconnections between like-minded democracies, the Centre also covers the security situation in neighbouring regions.

Amid growing geopolitical challenges, climate change, and power struggles, hybrid threats have expanded to regions such as the Arctic, the Middle East, and Africa. In response, the Centre actively conducts research focused on these regions as well.
